The Business Administration Apprenticeship

Dorset County Council has operated various in-house and work based training schemes over the past 30 years and continues to recognise the importance of recruiting apprentices into its workforce.

Our apprentices are not just based in Dorset County Council offices, but through partnership working with other public authorities including NHS Dorset, West Dorset District Council, Purbeck District Council, North Dorset District Council, Weymouth & Portland Borough Council to further the career opportunities available.

What’s involved?

Public authorities provide a wide range of services including the following:
• Children’s Services
• Adult and Community Services
• Planning
• Library Services
• Trading Standards
• Buildings
• Exchequer Services
• Chief Executives
• Environmental Services
• Human Resources

The Apprentices will be placed to work in an area within the County Council, District Council, Borough Council or NHS Dorset

All apprentices will be employed and we will aim to secure each one a permanent job before the end of their training

Apprentices receive a full salary on commencement

Paid work is combined with training and assessment
