About Dorset

The county council is the largest employer in Dorset and has run an apprenticeship scheme since 1995. There are 15,000 full and part time staff who all contribute towards delivering services in Dorset.

This year the county council will continue to work with partner organisations provide workplace opportunities within them – NHS Dorset, West Dorset District Council, Purbeck District Council, North Dorset District Council, Weymouth & Portland Borough Council.

Dorset apprentices become involved in many initiatives such as the Healthy Workplace Project, schools visits and National Apprenticeship Week. As an apprentice you will learn about the organisations involved in public services and will develop skills and knowledge which support these services.
